Framed

October 2016

‘You’ve been Framed’, or you could be because Framing someone isn’t always illegal!

It’s the end of the summer and your camera, smart phone and memory sticks are crammed with holiday photos with the family, Prom night, student graduation and those crazy family BBQs.

All too often they will end up being forgotten... or worse!

The memory stick reformatted, lost and the memories gone.

“Why not frame them for all to see and enjoy? The design possibilities are endless and can be as elaborate or as simple as you’d like” says Richard the owner of Just Framed.

Photographs are the most common holiday mementos. They can range from breath taking views of the Golden Gate Bridge to snapshots of the kids gathered around Mickey at Disney World. All photos trigger memories. The key is how to display them.

Consider framing several photos together in a mount with multiple openings.

Choose a large mount with a small opening for a photo, leaving room for other items.

Add kids' handprints on the mount to show their ages when the photos were taken.

Write a description of the day captured in the photo and included in the frame.

Include a favourite quote that sums up the trip.

Now, dare I say it but Christmas will soon be here.

With Christmas comes the annual dilemma of what presents to buy.  We all have them, the friend or relative who has everything and you never know what to get.  Maybe you’re just fed up with buying the same old things each year and want to find something a bit more special.  So now your summer time pics are the perfect answer.

Framed family pictures make ideal presents. Nans, grandads, aunts, uncles, mums, dads and cousins all have memories, special moments they won’t want to forget..

The kids looking so grown up and elegant on their Prom night; smart and sophisticated in their graduation gowns.  Nan would love those pictures - so would the girlfriend!

But framing is not just for photographs.  Tourists have been bringing home souvenirs from their travels since holidays began. Keepsakes! From tacky and inexpensive shells or beermats to high priced original art, they give you something to hang on to after the sunburn fades and the credit card bills are paid.  All too often our holiday souvenirs and mementos end up pushed in a box and forgotten about.  Why not frame them for all to see and enjoy? When you are old and faded yourself that tiny bright bikini you spent all honeymoon wearing can still be there to remind you...

“People are often amazed not only about how many different things can be displayed in a frame, but also how effective the end result is,” said Richard. “The great thing about these gift ideas is that they show a real personal touch and the end result is a truly special gift that will be cherished.”

So, why not let Richard and Just Framed keep your cherished moments alive.

JUST FRAMED – just for you

12th May 2017

It’s that time of year when, whilst spring cleaning, you come across those special memories that you tucked away meaning to do something with before they get spoiled.  However, you are finding that draws and cupboards are not your friend and those old photos or that special holiday moment last year are starting to get creased, scratched and marked.  Are Dad or Grandad’s medals put away for safekeeping, only seen when tidying up?   What about last year’s graduation pictures, Prom photos, diplomas and certificates all rolled up out of sight?  All just gathering dust, squirreled away but forgotten - out of sight out of mind.

You have rediscovered the memories but what to do to keep them safe...Well they are all prime candidates for framing.  Why not take the time to have them framed right now, whilst you think about it, and stop the deterioration, helping to protect them as well as enhancing their appearance for display?

Dad or Grandad’s medals set in a box frame made up of his regimental colours, with a photograph of him in uniform, looks great on a wall and reminds you of how proud you are of him.  What about your own awards?  That University degree wasn’t just given for turning up, it was awarded because of the hard work you put in over several years.  That old photo of all the family, when the kids were young and you had no grey, would look stunning in a double mounted gold edged frame.  What about framed posed, past and present photos?  Fun to reconstruct but raising the big question as to where those years have gone!  Wouldn’t young and old love to see that?

Do you have professional pictures and certificates pinned or blu-tacked to the office wall?  Why not have them reframed identically with elegant V-grooves.  A visitor’s first impression would be of a very professional office or business.

Just Framed is a family run bespoke framing business.  We provide a personal one to one framing and mounting service based in the Wolverhampton area.  Our custom framing ability allows us to mount, frame and glaze your pictures, treasured collectables or memory to any size in a variety of styles and colours.  Furthermore, with our At-Home service we can come to your home or office, at a time convenient to you.  We can see your space -allowing the décor and lighting of the room where you want to display the items to be taken into account when making framing decisions.  Our personal attention will help you to make the right choice and have your picture or memento displayed at its best.  The cost of protecting those special possessions, presenting them in a stunning frame, is far more affordable than you think.

We can make your memories and your treasures part of your daily life.

May 2018

Just Framed was recently asked by Mosely Park School, Bilston, if they would give a Framing Demonstration to their 6th Form Art Students.  The intention being to give the students an understanding of the types and styles of mounting and framing open to them, and which ones might be best suited for displaying different artwork.  Not being a teacher, Richard was a little concerned at how well this presentation would be received by the young students.  However, once started the students were extremely receptive and enthusiastic after they realised it was in fact a very hands on process.  Even the teachers were surprised to find that framing satisfied cross-curricular learning by using a number of disciplines that applied to this single practical experience such as:

At the completion of the session, the students had all successfully framed a piece of their own artwork.  Their faces were an absolute delight when they saw what they had achieved in putting a perfect finish to their hard work.  Richard said, “The students were quite exceptional and it was extremely gratifying to see the smiles of achievement with each student holding their own framed artwork, designed and made by themselves.  I thank you all for making my return to school such a pleasurable experience.”

With the onset of summer (albeit with this weather it may have been and gone already!) we will soon be heading into a period of the year filled with memorable occasions; Father’s Day, Sporting Events, Proms, Graduations, Weddings, these are all events where hundreds of photo’s will be taken capturing special moments, places and memories.  So why on earth would you go to great lengths to get that perfect shot only to keep it on a hard drive never to be seen again?  Why not frame those pictures for all to see?  Not only that, but a professionally framed photograph is a wonderfully personal gift that can be treasured for years to come.  Father’s Day, for instance, is the ideal time for us to say thank you to our Dads for everything they do, but we often lack inspiration when it comes to gifts.  So why not let Richard and Just Framed keep those special moments alive and give the gift that captures time.
